Here's the surprise catch of the week....it was definitely a catch and release!

This is something we'll probably never have again--a NC grown pineapple- 3 years in the making

Fourth of July Week 2009

I've been a little slack getting this posted. Here are pics from July 4th week. Had great week. Why don't the work weeks go by as fast??? It was good to have most of the family together...missed Alan and Valerie, Pat and her family, Jenny and her clan too! Dylan was only with us for a day- he had to leave for wresting camp. Lindsay was still in Conn. hope to see her later this summer. Had perfect seats for the fireworks show- in the boat docked at the Morehead City Docks. Spent some time boating and visitng the "islands..." Sand dollar, Shackelford, and Cape Lookout. Dad surprised us- he showed up with a new ride. She was buckskin colored and named Malibu. (I understand she didn't behave well and Dad had to trade her for a white one...Blanco) Gotta love that "cash for clunkers! Celebrated my birthday with a cook out and my favorite birthday cake--- chocolate with white fluffy icing. One day I'll figure out how to get the pictures on here is some order!

Memorial Day Weekend

Catch of the day! Saturday, May 23, 2009. All the "chumming" by the women folk made for a successful day. (Ha Ha) Great weekend with the family. Alan and Valerie made a surprise visit from Atlanta. It was good to have them with us. Jenny and Mickey were in from Ohio. We got to catch up on their new horse hobby. Mickey's sister, Kathy joined us too. It is always a pleasure to see her. We were walking buddies for the weekend- what a great place to walk. Nancy took a break from the world of teaching and had a long weekend away. Pat and Sam joined us Saturday night-they enjoyed a dinner at The Ruddy Duck. Of course the regulars were ther too- Jo and Terry, Jerry and Sherry(hope you're feeling better), Dad and Veronica. Thanks to Gini, Terry and I had a tennis lesson (something neither of us are very good at!) As you can see from the pictures, Alan jumped right in with some fresh sushi! Just the beginning of another wonderful summer.

April 2009

Here's a few pictures from the weekend. Weather was great for early April. Last 3 windows were installed- now have to get the door in. Jerry is still working on the dreds.... He also donned his birthday hat. The boat got to go for a spin. Looking forward to SUMMER!

Merry Christmas/Happy 50th Birthday!

We celebrated our late Christsmas with a small crowd this year-but it always good to together. Wealso honored Jenny for her 50th birthday! Wish you could have been there ! The candles put out quite the glow and heat!

Oh yeah....checkout the temperature on the porch thermometer! It was below 80 degrees!

How Cold Was It?

Saturday morning, January 17, 2009. After a night of 9 degrees-check out the creek. Yes that is ice on the creek and oyster beds!

Dad'sProgress

It was back to see Dr. Voos today-Jan.7th. Got to take the chest and back pieces of the brace off! YEA! He can start weaning from the collar over the next few weeks. Another CTscan is scheduled for Feb 18th and back to Dr.Voos on Feb. 23-- Hopefully the neck brace will come off forgood! All neck vertebrae are fused except C7 and T1-- some bone growth but not enough to satisfy Dr. Voos yet.

January 2009- New Projects

The New Year has begun and so have the projects for the creek house! Quiet week end Dad, Jerry, Terry and Jo. Celebrated the new year with Gini and Roger. Roasted oysters, played cards and fought to stay awake until midnight!
